Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Mulhim Competition (May Allah Have Mercy on Him) for memorizing the Holy Quran

In its first session, organized by the General Administration of Education in Al-Ahsa, represented by the Private Education Office in cooperation with Al-Reeyada International School. The competition targets are students of international and foreign education in Al-Ahsa Governorate.

Objectives Of The Competition

Encourage students to engage with the Holy Quran through memorization, understanding and recitation.

Stimulating a spirit of fair competition among Quran memorizers in international and foreign schools.

Connect young participants with the Holy Quran and support their acquisition of skills related to the Arabic language.

Enhance student proficiency and prepare them for participation in local and international competitions.

Note :
Non-Arabic speakers have the right to participate in the specified memorization amount for the Arabic speaker’s category in the same branch if they wish.
A student has the right to participate in any branch above his grade if he has memorized the required part in it.  

Conditions Of The Competition

The participant shall be a student from international schools - international programs - all community schools (Egyptian, Pakistani, Indian .. etc) within the governorate.

Nominations for the competition shall be made by the targeted schools after conducting their own internal selections with no more than 3 candidates per educational level.

The Nominations for the participant may be in only one branch of the competition

The age of the candidate shall be in accordance with the specified categories

Prizes and Rewards

The top winners in each branch will be awarded cash prizes exceeding fifty thousand riyals in total.

Judging Rules

Memorization
• Sequence of verses and knowing their beginnings and ends
• Maintaining the construction of the word with its vowels and stresses in accordance with the drawing of the Qur’an
• Not dropping any letters or words or adding them
• Beware of mistakes (obvious and hidden)
• One point is deducted for each verbal error
• A quarter point is deducted for each warning, and two warnings in one word are considered one warning
• Sequence of verses and knowing their beginnings and ends

• Half point is deducted for each verbal error

A/ Half a point is deducted for each clear rule in Tajweed and the required rules are

• Rules of Stretching Med including Haa alknaigh

• Exit Point of the Letters and Attributes, rules of Stopping, Starting, Inflation (At Tafkheem) and Reduction (At Tarqeeq) (specific to levels four and five).
Other than these rules, no Tajweed errors will be counted against the participant.
B/ If the participant makes a mistake in Tajweed and corrects the mistake immediately, nothing is deducted from him, but after he completely overcomes it, a Tajweed error shall be counted against him

Recitation
• The reader’s confidence in himself and the absence of hesitation, stuttering, hesitation and regression.
• Eloquence of reading and freedom from lisping.
• Moderation of recitation in terms of rhythm (speed and slowness).
• Continuity of the voice and the ability to control it in the case of raising and lowering.
• Avoid affectation and pomp in pronouncing letters and words.
• The reader’s confidence in himself and the absence of hesitation, stuttering, hesitation and regression.
• Moderation of recitation in terms of rhythm (speed and slowness).
• Continuity of the voice and the ability to control it in the case of raising and lowering.

Competition Instructions

Registration for the competition is conducted through the school administration under the supervision of the Special Education Office.

The school is responsible for honoring its participating and nominated students in an appropriate ceremony.

The Directorate of Education, represented by the Special Education Office, will honor the winning students in a formal ceremony.

Schools shall inform the Special Education Office of the names of the competition teams (coordinator, judging teams) within the first week following the competition announcement.
